The Montgomery College men's soccer team fell to Monroe College, 5-1, in the East District Championship Semifinals Thursday, in a game played in New Rochelle, NY.
On sophomore day honoring Joseph Kitengie, Kitengie scored twice (3' & 7'), followed up by goals from Luis Aquino (48' PEN) and Abraham Israel (88') to give the MC men's soccer team the 4-1 victory over Harford CC. Marvin Mendez had another brilliant performance in goal for MC, recording 11 saves for his sixth win of the season.
After a 5-0 start to the season, the MC Raptors Men's Soccer team suffered a 6-1 defeat away against Frederick Community College.
In a battle for second place in the conference, the Montgomery College Raptors men's Soccer team emerged with a tough 1-0 extra time win against CCBC Catonsville Cardinals. The Thursday, May 6 win puts the Raptors at 5-0 and pushes them into sole possession of second place in the MD JUCO Conference, three points behind top-ranked CCBC Essex with a game in hand.
Building on their strong start, Montgomery College men's soccer team blanked the Hagerstown Community College Hawks 11-0 on Monday, April 26. Playing their first game on the road, the undefeated Raptors improved to 3-0.
A promising start for Head Coach Pedro Braz's return as the MC Raptors Men's Soccer team wins its first two games of the shortened season. Having led MC to National Championship appearances in 2012, 2013, and 2014, Braz looks poised to return the program to its dominant position in the MD JUCO conference.
