MIAMI, FL— The Montgomery College Raptors men's soccer team closed out regular season play with a hard-fought 1–0 road victory over Miami Dade College on Monday afternoon. The win caps a strong finish to the campaign as the Raptors head into postseason competition with momentum.
Sophomore forward Oscar Alvarado-Celis scored the game's only goal in the 52nd minute, converting one of his two shots on target to put the Raptors ahead. The tally proved to be the difference in a tightly contested match that featured disciplined defending and physical play from both sides.
In goal, Avery Langford earned the clean sheet, playing all 90 minutes and making key stops to preserve the shutout. The defensive unit, anchored by Ethan Goldstone, Bente Bruns, Miguel Graneda-Penalva, and Owen Laborde, stood firm throughout the match, successfully turning away several late Miami Dade opportunities.
