MC Powers Past College of Southern Maryland in Road Victory
La Plata, MD — Montgomery College traveled to face College of Southern Maryland and returned home with a convincing win, fueled by a dominant offensive performance that saw five goals from a balanced attack.
The Raptors unleashed 36 shots, with 17 on target, overwhelming the Hawks' defense throughout the match. Midfielder Marcelo Martinez-Herrero was the engine of Montgomery's attack, registering 1 goal and 1 assist, orchestrating play and creating chances from the midfield.
Defender Miguel Graneda-Penalva made a surprising impact, netting 2 goals from his 2 shots on goal, showcasing precision and composure from the backline. Forward Jet Ryen-Read kept the Hawks on their heels with 7 shots, including 1 goal, while Jonathon Koun added another goal to round out Montgomery's scoring.
Playmaker Paolo Perez chipped in with 2 assists, and Owen Laborde contributed another, highlighting the Raptors' excellent ball distribution and teamwork in the attacking third.
