Raptors Outlast CSM in OT
Rockville, MD — In an electric early-season matchup, the Montgomery College Raptors battled through a high-scoring, back-and-forth contest to defeat the College of Southern Maryland Hawks 114–101 in overtime on Tuesday night. The Rockville campus packed plenty of drama, as both teams traded scoring runs before Montgomery dominated the extra period to secure the win.
The Raptors led 50–49 at halftime in a fast-paced offensive showcase, with both teams pushing the tempo and shooting efficiently. The second half mirrored the first—tight, physical, and full of momentum swings—as Southern Maryland edged out a narrow 45–44 advantage in the period, forcing overtime at 94–94.
From there, Montgomery took control. The Raptors exploded for 20 points in the overtime frame, fueled by defensive stops, fast-break opportunities, and timely shot-making. Their energy on the glass and depth across the rotation proved decisive as Montgomery pulled away for a double-digit victory.
Bench Dominance and Balanced Scoring Lead the Way
Montgomery's bench proved to be the difference, accounting for a massive portion of the offensive output. Sophomore forward Jordan Emecheta delivered a game-changing performance with 19 points and 17 rebounds, including six offensive boards. His activity inside, especially in the second half and overtime, constantly extended possessions and swung momentum in the Raptors' favor.
Freshman guard Daunte Foster caught fire from deep, knocking down three three-pointers and scoring 11 points in just 11 minutes. Farah Abdalla added 9 points, and Osman Mansaray contributed productive minutes with 4 points and strong defensive effort.
Pascal Leads the Starters, Levy and Elbouazzaoui Shine
Sophomore guard Ian Pascal anchored the Raptors with 24 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals while shooting an efficient 8-of-15 from the field. Pascal's perimeter scoring and poise late kept Montgomery composed during crucial stretches.
Playmaker Christopher Levy added 17 points and displayed elite facilitation with 8 assists, pushing the tempo and consistently creating scoring opportunities. Forward Aimane Elbouazzaoui turned in one of his best all-around performances of the season, finishing with 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists, nearly posting a triple-double.
Freshman big man Mohammed Lo battled in the paint, recording 13 rebounds and 7 points in just 17 minutes, helping the Raptors secure key stops and second-chance opportunities.
