Raptors Dominate Allegany Trojans
Germantown, MD - The Raptors baseball team outlasted Allegany College of Maryland yesterday in a high-scoring battle, earning a 23–15 victory behind explosive offense capped off with a game-breaking 8th inning.
MC wasted little time getting on the board, scoring in the 1st before erupting for four runs in the 2nd and five more in the 3rd to pull away early. Allegany made several attempts to get back into the game, scoring in six different innings and keeping pressure on the Raptors throughout the middle portion of the game. The turning point came in the bottom of the 8th inning when the Montgomery bats exploded for 12 runs, breaking open a tight contest and ensuring a win.
On the mound, Montgomery used multiple pitchers throughout the game to navigate Allegany's lineup. Luke Thoresonearned the win in relief, allowing just one run over the final innings to help secure the victory.
Despite allowing 15 runs, Montgomery played error-free defense and continued to respond offensively each time Allegany threatened, showcasing resilience and depth in a back-and-forth contest.
