Raptors Sweep Rivalry Doubleheader

Largo, MD - The Montgomery College baseball team delivered a dominant showing on the road on saturday, sweeping a rivalry doubleheader against Prince George's Community College with back-to-back offensive outbursts and strong pitching performances.

Game 1: Raptors 13, Prince George's 0

Montgomery opened the day with a statement performance, exploding for 13 runs on 16 hits while shutting out Prince George's.

The Raptors set the tone early with two runs in the first and continued to apply pressure, scoring in five of six innings. A four-run sixth inning capped off the offensive surge.

On the mound, Daerek Sawyer was dominant, tossing a complete-game shutout over six innings, allowing just three hits while striking out five.

Julian Saavedra earned the win in relief, while the offense combined for 11 hits and nine walks.
