Montgomery College Promotes Richard Carter to Head Volleyball Coach

Rockville, MD - The Montgomery College Department of Athletics is pleased to announce the promotion of longtime assistant volleyball coach Richard Carter to head coach following the departure of former head coach Patricia Westenberg.

Carter joined the Montgomery College volleyball program in the summer of 2017 after beginning his coaching career at Rockville High School in 2010. During his tenure with the Raptors, he has helped guide the program to four NJCAA Region 20 Championships, two NJCAA District Championships, and three appearances in the NJCAA National Championship Tournament.

Committed to continued professional development, Carter recently earned a master's degree in Coaching and Athletics Administration from Goucher College.

With nearly a decade of experience within the Montgomery College volleyball program, Carter brings continuity, leadership, and a proven track record of success as he takes over the Raptors' volleyball program.
