300 and Counting: Coach Gasque Earns Major Coaching Milestone
A major program milestone was reached on Tuesday evening on the Rockville campus, as the Montgomery College women's basketball team secured its sixth win of the 2025–2026 season—and in doing so delivered Head Coach Tarlouh Gasque her 300th career victory. The achievement marks a significant moment not only for coach Gasque, but for the Raptors athletics department and the legacy of women's basketball at Montgomery College.
Gasque, who took over the women's basketball program during the 2006–2007 season, has built a consistent culture of excellence and accountability. From navigating early rebuild seasons to transforming MC into a perennial Region 20 contender, her leadership has anchored one of the most stable and successful two-year women's basketball programs in the area. Her teams have produced postseason runs, standout student-athletes, and a tradition of strong defensive identity and relentless effort.
Beyond the basketball court, Mrs. Gasque also serves as the Athletics Director, a role she has held since the 2016–2017 academic year. During her tenure, she has guided the department through continued growth and achievement, overseeing multiple programs that have excelled both competitively and academically. Under her direction, Raptors athletics has strengthened its student-athlete support systems, increased competitive success across sports, and elevated its presence within the NJCAA and Region 20 landscapes. Her dual impact—as head coach and as athletic administrator—has positioned Montgomery College Athletics for sustained excellence.
Tuesday's victory not only propelled the Raptors to another strong start, giving them a 6–2 record for the 2025–2026 season, but also served as a celebration of Gasque's longevity, dedication, and ability to evolve with the game. Over nearly two decades, she has guided the program through coaching transitions, roster cycles, and even the challenges of the COVID-19 era, while maintaining a high standard of performance and academic commitment.
Her milestone win reflects the program's enduring competitiveness and the trust she has built with student-athletes, staff, and the broader MC community.
